Cían Walsh Healing Arts

About Cían

Cían is a Registered Massage Therapist living and practicing in Montréal. His approach to bodywork is grounded in a longstanding curiosity about the human body and shaped by both Western medical science and Eastern traditions of healing.

Originally from Ireland, Cían holds an honours degree in Biomedical, Health and Life Sciences from University College Dublin, where he studied clinical anatomy, physiology, neuroscience and psychology, amongst other courses. This scientific training continues to inform his understanding of the body and provides a foundation for his therapeutic practice and evidence-based approach.

His relationship with the body, however, extends beyond anatomy and physiology. For seven years, Cían worked at the intersection of art and science, curating and producing exhibitions and programmes for art centres, galleries and independent studios. This experience deepened his interest in perception, embodiment and the many ways we experience and relate to the world through the body.

A dedicated yoga practitioner since 2019, Cían is also drawn to Eastern approaches to healing and movement. His interest in these traditions led him to Chiang Mai, Thailand, where he trained in Thai Massage at Sunshine Massage School. In Montréal, he trained in Therapeutic Swedish Massage, which forms the foundation of his holistic massage practice.

Today, Cían brings these different perspectives together in his work, combining anatomical knowledge with traditional and contemporary bodywork techniques. His treatments are tailored to the individual, with the aim of easing tension and pain, supporting healing and physical wellbeing, and creating a greater sense of balance between body, mind and spirit.
